Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Peninsula Vision Optometry a proud provider of vision care products and services in Rolling Hills Estates.


Dr. Newman Shiue

Dr. Newman Shiue earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2008 he received his Doctorate of Optometry from the State University of New York.

Dr. Shiue fulfilled his clinical training at the Naval ambulatory care center where he was the first extern to receive the Naval Officer in Charge’s award for excellence. He also completed rotations at the Southwest Veterans Affairs Hospital in Tucson, AZ, the Ocular Disease and Glaucoma Institute in New York City, and the Pediatrics and Vision Therapy clinic also in New York City. Dr. Shiue is certified by the Board of Optometry to practice at the highest level. This includes being TLG certified which gives him the ability to diagnosis and treat primary open angle glaucoma as well as the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for ocular disease.

It is Dr. Shiue’s lifelong dream to not only raise his family in his hometown of Palos Verdes but also to serve his community.


Dr. Nancy M. Honda

Dr. Nancy Honda received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of California at Irvine. She attended the Southern California College of Optometry where she received a second Bachelor’s degree in Visual Science, magna cum laude, and her Doctorate of Optometry, with distinction.

After optometry school, she completed a post-graduate residency program in Geriatrics and Hospital-based Optometry at the Veterans’ Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles. Dr. Honda has been in private practice overĀ 20 years and enjoys caring for patients from her home town of Palos Verdes.

Dr. Honda is retired but still seeing patients with a very limited schedule.
